SO MUCH TO SEE & DO

An abundance of wildlife can be seen even from the garden.   The local Osprey hunts down the Muick most mornings in the Summer.    Golden Eagles, Roe and Red Deer, Otters, Pine Martin, Cuckoos, Owls and countless other birds of prey can also be seen.   Woodland and River Bank walks start from your doorstep throughout some of Scotland's finest countryside.

Further up the Glen leads to many challenging Munros in the form of Lochnagar, Broad Cairn, Tolmount, Glas Maol, Tom Buidhe and Cairn Bannoch.   Mounth drove roads lead over the hills, historically used by farmers and whisky smugglers, to further Monro's Mount Keen, Driesh and Mayar.

The Mill is the nearest private house, just a few fields away, to Birkhall.    The Scottish residence of Prince Charles.   The Balmoral Estate boundary starts on the opposite bank of the River Muick.

The nearby village of Ballater, 1 mile away, offers a gentle and traditional pace of life not seen in these modern hectic times.  It is well served with a butcher, baker, newsagent, delicatessens, sports shops, Jewellers, cafes, restaurants, clothes shops, interiors shops and many more.   A large number of which are Royal Warrant Holders.    It really can be a joy to kick back, cast aside mobile phone and car, and just amble into the village by bike or car and take in a café, some shops, a riverside walk around the  golf course or head off for a picnic.   The options really are endless.
